I have plenty of unread books sitting at home, but here are three books (well, technically six) that I really want to read. I don’t own these books, but I plan on it (or paying the library a much needed visit. I’ve ignored it so). Read more to learn which books are on my “To Read” list, and tell me yours!
Uglies Series: Uglies, Pretties, Specials, Extras
by Scott Westerfeld
I couldn’t find a summary on all three. Look up each individual book if you want to know more. I’m too lazy to do so. Ha.
Such a Pretty Girl
by Laura Wiess
“Meredith was promised nine years of safety, but they only gave her three. Her father, who was sent to prison for sexually abusing Meredith and other children in their small town, has been released on good behavior. He was supposed to be locked up until Meredith’s eighteenth birthday, when she could legally be free of both her abusive father and her delusional mother who dwells on a fantasy that the three of them will be a happy family once more.
But Meredith is only fifteen, and her father is out of prison…and her mother is bringing him home. And Meredith won’t let him hurt her, or anyone else, ever again. No matter what the cost.” -Blurb from the book
The Perks of Being a Wallflower
by Stephen Chbosky
“This is the story of what it’s like to grow up in high school. More intimate than a diary, Charlie’s letters are singular and unique, hilarious and devastating. We may not know where he lives. We may not know whom he is writing. All we know is the world he shares. Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it puts him on a strange course through uncharted territory. The world of first dates and mixed tapes, family dramas and new friends. The world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite.” – Back of the book blurb

In case you hadn’t noticed, I adore the Young Adult section of bookstores and libraries, and I don’t think I’ll be reading anything in the Adult Novel section for quite some time. I’m happy in my teen bookland. =)
