I’ve always dreamed of going to Greece, so I was excited when I was offered the opportunity to write about the island of Kefalonia. After visiting the website and checking it all out, I’m now even more convinced that someday I really do need to travel to Greece, and Kefalonia seems like the ideal Greek Island to visit.
The island itself is roughly 300 square miles with a population of around 30,000 people (I imagine that is the actual residents versus the somewhat extensive annual tourists and vacation goers).
The weather seems ideal for me (in the spring and fall), getting nice and warm during the day, but cooling off a bit at night so that I would actually be able to sleep. If you’re one for hot weather, Kefalonia seems to get quite warm in June, July, August and September. In the summer months you’ll also find lots of sunshine and little rain.
Kefalonia offers great natural wonders such as Drogarati Cave and Melissani Lake, and of course also the amazingly blue ocean that surrounds the island. You can check out what other places to see when on Kefalonia on the website.
Have you ever been to Greece? Would you consider ever visiting?
Note: I am being compensated for this post, but it has not affected my opinions. All opinions are 100% my own. – I really do want to go to Greece and think Kefalonia is a great place to visit from what I’ve read. =)
