Review

I was really excited for the chance to review nvey eco cosmetics. I have a bit of a makeup addiction (has anyone been a reader long enough to remember when I use to post my YouTube makeup videos on this here blog?). When I went to the website, I was even more excited about reviewing nvey eco after learning that the company is certified organic, does not use any chemicals, do animal testing and other such things. I couldn’t help but to be a little extra excited when I realized the great giftbag they gave me to sample, so many items!

To sample I received; 5 brushes, 1 eyeshadow set, lipstick, 2 lip glosses, 1 bronzer, 1 mattifying powder, 1 mascara and 1 erase concealer. ne lucky winner will will the other gift bag with consists of all the aforementioned minus the eyeshadow set, there was only one.

I have mixed feelings on the products. I like some of them, quite like others, and was not at all a fan of others. I had to try not and compare these products to all other makeup, but rather other ‘green’ makeup. When I think about it like that, I’m a bit more pleased.

Here is a brief overview of each item I received;
Mascara~ I quite liked it. I tried it on my sister and could definitely see a difference.
Lipstick~ Not super pigmented, liked the color, it was okay.
Lip gloss~ Thin formula is nice, not super pigmented, they were okay, I’d like to try more.
Brushes~ I loved the brushes. They all seemed to have great quality.
Bronzer~ Too dark for me, but looked pretty nice on my sister, pigmented. I liked it.
Powder~ Would be a great mattifying powered for me. I liked it.
Eyeshadow~ Weren’t very pigmented, you would need a primer for sure. Nice colors. They were okay.
Concealer~ It was too dark for me, yet I wasn’t really able to try it because mine was dried up. (Edit: Apparently you are suppose to add a dab of water to the concealer and then use a brush to mix it at bit. I have yet to try this.)

I’m surprised because I’ve read great things about nvey eco online! I’ll have to play around with it all more. Keep tabs for future blog posts.

Pros
• The brushes and mascara were great.
• Eco-friendly and certified organic.
• Better for your skin, your body and the environment.
• I love the black, lime green and bit of white color theme for the packaging.

Cons
• It’s all a bit expensive to me. (Maybe the brushes are okay.)
• I’m not sure if it was just my concealer or the concealer in general.
• Not very pigmented, I was a bit disappointed, but there were still redeemable products.

Overall…
If you have the money to spend on makeup, I’d say give it a try and see how you like it. I wouldn’t really recommend this product if you didn’t really have the money. If I were to recommend two things I would recommend the mascara and any brushes.

  1. I’ve heard mostly good things about nvey eco. I’ve never used their products, but I’d love to try their brushes and foundation. A bit out of my price range though.

  2. I’ve actually tried the concealer and at first thought I had purchased an old/expired product! After a bit of googling, I read that you actually have to heat up the product a bit with your finger and it will break the “seal” over the concealer – after that I was AMAZED by the coverage and the consistency – bye bye bags under eyes. Hope yours works out!

  3. I have only lately started to look at eco-friendly and organic skin products. I do agree with you though that most cosmetics and skin creams etc. that are organic do cost considerably more. However, I do understand that it likely costs more to produce when you are only using organic ingredients. The reason I started looking into these type of products was because a couple of months ago, I was watching a program that scared the heck out of me. It was all about the possible ingredients in some cosmetics that contained all kinds of nasty things…including cancer causing agents, lead and other mind-blowing things. It is so easily absorbed into our bodies and for women that wear make-up often it is pretty scary! Thanks for the review!

  4. Thanks for introducing me to nvey eco. I love makeup and I love eco-friendly, animal-friendly products. Really appreciate your honest review, too. I’d be interested to see what foiling the eyeshadows would do for enhancing their pigmentation.

  5. Thanks for the review. These might just be up my alley because at my age I shouldn’t be wearing any heavy pigments.trishden948(at)yahoo(dot)com

  6. Thanks for the review. I’m trying to get away from skin products with chemicles, these might just be what I’m looking for.trishden948(at)yahoo(dot)com

  7. this looks great, i do not wear much makeup but when i do i want to wear eco friendly, i dont need to be plastering chemicals on my face
