eMeals.com is a service that makes meal planning and cooking for your family a cinch. eMeals lets you pick your meal plan (from things like Vegetarian, Classic, Clean Eating, Gluten-Free, etc.), choose the number of people you’re cooking for (1-2 or 3-6 people), choose which store you do your primary shopping from, and you’re done! Every week eMeals emails you your meal plan for the week, complete with recipes and a shopping list. Continue on to see what delicious meals I made with my eMeals plan!
For review, I was given a weekly meal subscription plan. I chose the Safeway, Classic Plan for Two. Additionally, eMeals just came out with a dessert menu meal plan, so I was also able to review that. I was really pleased with the ease of use of the website and liked that there was the option to change your meal plan if you ever wanted to try something a little different for the next week.
Here is a graphic I took off the eMeals website showing you just how easy it is.
Now, for the fun part. What did I make and how was it? I’m not going to give you the recipes, because they belong to eMeals.com, but I will let you know what is in each dish. For the sake of having a post that’s not super long, I’ve made one dinner dish and one dessert dish to cook, taste and photograph for you.
For a dinner dish, I chose to make the Mexican Chicken with Beans and Corn dish that was on my meal plan for last week. This dish was super easy to make and very delicious. This recipe would only take about 10-12 minutes to cook, but I used chicken with skins and bones, whereas the recipe called for boneless, skinless chicken. As for the topping that goes with it it’s made with; corn, beans, salsa, jalapeno and a bit of sour cream at the end. Viola! Super delicious! And I found the topping to be quite delicious on its own. Everything also reheated nicely for my lunch and dinner the next day.
For dessert, I made this amazing Crunchy Pumpkin Streusel Loaf. I cooked this a bit longer than I had meant to, so the top and edges were a bit more cooked than I would have liked. Other than that, this loaf was delicious. I ate it up with my Mom and myself in two days. It was too good! The loaf is made with a lot of pumpkin, however it’s not so pumpkin flavored that someone like my Mom who doesn’t like pumpkin wouldn’t enjoy it. The top is made of tasty sugar, butter and pecans. YUM.
All in all, I was quite pleased with this service and will continue to use it to check out recipes. I’m not one to really make a serious, planned meal every night, but I do really like to use them to find new recipes to try. And my Mom certainly enjoyed the I was cooking dinner for the both of us!
