For review, I was sent a Glam Lights hair highlighting kit from L’Oréal Paris. This is the first time I’ve ever gotten highlights, the first time I dyed my hair myself, and the first time the dye wasn’t purple and on the underside of my hair. I was a bit nervous, but I was also ready to get some highlights!
I’ve wanted highlights for years, but I’ve just never been one to dye my hair, aside from the two times I had the underside dyed purple. I thought it was time to give highlights a try. I like that these Glam Lights are more subtle and natural looking than other options.
I’ve found that rather than having glamourous highlights as I was expecting, I had a lovely experimental first time attempt at highlights. I did not get the expected results, nor did I ruin my hair (a slight fear I had). I think this was a great learning experience for me and I plan to use L’Oréal Paris Glam Lights next time.
What would I do differently next time? I’d like to try a darker highlight shade for a longer period of time to sit. I didn’t let mine sit long enough to make highlights that are noticeable, but I do have a noticeable spot that is a color that makes me glad I didn’t have a full head of those highlights.
As a first time hair dyer, I was pleased with the ease of use and instructions that the L’Oréal Paris kit provided. I’m more of a trial and error person, so I’m not surprised I didn’t quite get the results I wanted the first time. Next time!
Overall, I had a positive experience with these highlights. There are a couple things I would do differently next time to ensure better results, but I’m glad I had this test run. I will purchase from L’Oréal Paris next time I try highlights has I feel comfortable with the kit now.
