lake house french press coffee package

For review, I was sent the Lake House French Press Coffee Maker*. I use a french press nearly every day when I’m at home to make a cup of coffee, and it’s nice to have more than one press! With my recent move from my childhood home to the big city, I was thankful to have accumulated enough presses for both my mom and I to have a couple each.

As for this french press specifically, it’s not unlike others I’ve used in the past. However, it has a few key features that I really like, features that make this my favorite french press and they one that will be living with me (once I get it from back home, it got forgotten in the kitchen!). I like that overall sleek design of the packaging. The handle is made of plastic, so it doesn’t get hot when you add boiling water to it. The handle also has nice clearance between where your knuckles will be and the hot coffee, more clearance than other coffee presses I’ve used. The feet are stable and keep the coffee press level, an issue I had with another brand before.

lake house french press coffee

I have the hardest time reviewing things like this, simply because I’m not totally sure what I want to talk about/ what I should mention. For products like these, it seems like a simple “it works as it should without issues and I recommend it” would suffice at times.

Overall, I like this Lake House French Coffee Press. It does the trick while looking stylish. I have no complaints and have used it a couple times now. My Mom also reports that she has had no issues, and used it just this morning (considering my leaving it behind). I would recommend this french press to anyone who is in the market for one.

#Review: Live Infinitely Infuser Water Bottle | #liveinfinitely

This post contains products received for free in exchange for an honest review. This post contains affiliate links that will earn me a small commission is clicked and a purchase is made.

For review, I was sent a the Live Infinitely Infuser Water Bottle* in Black. This water bottle is features a center cell that allows you to fill it with any fruit of your choosing to infuse into your water. It’s also BPA-free! Perfect for encouraging more water drinking in yourself or your children. This water bottle comes in black, green, red, blue or orange colors.

Live Infinitely Forever Infuser | MaeGal.com   Live Infinitely Information | MaeGal.com

I was excited to review this water bottle for a couple of reasons, primarily because I love infused water! The university I went to always had at least two or more huge containers of water infused with various fruits and flavors in the dining halls. It was actually one of my Mom’s favorite parts about visiting me! And I know I have a lot better time getting myself to drink water when it tasted delicious.

Live Infinitely Infused Water | MaeGal.com

Thus far, I’ve tried infusing my water with raspberries and lime slices. Yum! Already a favorite flavor combination of mine, this duo makes for a refreshing bottle of water. And the longer you let it sit (up to a certain point), the better the flavors incorporate themselves into the water. I’m excited to try out more flavor combinations to see what I like.

Live Infinitely Water Bottle Parts | MaeGal.com

Overall, I really like this Live Infinitely water bottle. I will certainly be continuing to use it. I’ll particularly be glad I have this once I move to Seattle and have to deal with city water. While filters take out the chemicals and chlorine, no water will ever be as good as the well-water I’ve grown up on. But this infuser water bottle will make Seattle water drinkable for me!

#Review: Copper Mugs from Pure Copper | #purecopper

This post contains products received for free in exchange for an honest review. This post contains affiliate links that will earn me a small commission is clicked and a purchase is made.

For review, I was sent two copper mugs from Pure Copper. Made from pure copper, as the name suggests, these mugs are great at keeping your drink cold all while looking good. Choose from either a smooth-looking or a hammered-looking mug from this company, or choose both like I did!

Pure Copper Mugs Packaging | maegal.com

I’ve been seeing a lot of copper mugs around lately, and wanted to try them out for myself. Plus, it was a great excuse to make a somewhat fancy cocktail, as copper mugs are known for housing Moscow Mules and variations of that drink. I first became aware of such a drink about a year ago when a friend ordered one at a bar. The fact that it came in a fancy mug just makes it more appealing.

Hammered Pure Copper Mug | maegal.com Pure Copper Mug Inside Detail | maegal.com

Pure Copper Mug Hammered | maegal.com Pure Copper Smooth Mug | maegal.com

Here is the drink I made for my Mom and myself so that we could test out our copper mugs. The mugs came with recipe cards for a number of great Mule variations, but I opted to create my own. And it turned out rather well, or so I was told and thought myself!

Somehow I failed to take pictures of said drink. I do have a video I may upload at some point.

Red Raspberry Mule

  1. Pour 2 oz vodka or raspberry vodka into shaker.
  2. Muddle in 5 raspberries.
  3. Squeeze in ½ a lime’s juice.
  4. Add ice to shaker and shake.
  5. Pour into copper mug.
  6. Add 5 oz ginger beer.
  7. (Optional) Drizzle with honey.
  8. Garnish with lime slice and raspberry.

Pure Copper Mug Smoother Detailed | maegal.com

Overall, I like these copper mugs. I enjoyed making my Red Raspberry Mule, and enjoying drinking it. My Mom also enjoyed the drink I made for her, and was a fan of these copper mugs. I would certainly recommend Pure Copper mugs to anyone in the market for such a mug.

#Review: Barmix Cocktail Shaker

This post contains products received for free in exchange for an honest review. This post contains affiliate links that will earn me a small commission if clicked on and a purchase is made.

Barmix Cocktail Shaker Set | maegal.com

For review, I was sent the Barmix Cocktail Shaker*. This cocktail shaker is made from stainless steel and can hold 24 ounces of fluid. The cocktail shaker itself features a glass, built-in strainer and a cap. Plus, you get a double jigger, too! Perfect for making mixed drinks.

Barmix Cocktail Shaker With Jigger | maegal.com

I was interested in trying out his cocktail shaker because I don’t own one! And while I don’t tend to drink much while living at home, once I move out and am spending more time with friends I may be going so again. I do like mixed drinks, and I think the process of making them is enjoyable.

Barmix Cocktail Shaker Info | maegal.com

To give this cocktail shaker a try, I decided to make a Moscow Mule variation. I received received two copper mugs to review (review coming soon), so I thought what better way to give this cocktail shaker a try, too! I’ll be posting a video of me making this drink along with that review, so keep posted for that.

Check out this brief video over view I made to show off this cocktail shaker.

Overall, I like this cocktail shaker so far. I’ve only used it to make one drink, and plan to make more in the near future. It had no trouble keeping the pieces together, and I had no leakage problem with the shaker. If you’re in market for a cocktail shaker of this variety, I would recommend checking this one out!

#Review: Brillante Coffee Grinder | #brillantecoffeegrinders

This post contains products received for free in exchange for an honest review. This post contains affiliate links that will earn me a small payment if clicked.

For review, I was sent the Brillante™ Manual Coffee Grinder*. This grinder is made of ceramic, with the outside of the grinder being made of stainless steel/ aluminum/some sort of metal. Capable of making two persons worth of grounds in a couple of minutes, doing so silently, this grinder is perfect for a number of lifestyle situations.

Brillante Coffee Grinder | maegal.com

I was excited (I need to come up with another word!) to try this grinder. I’ve used many electric grinders in the past, but I like that idea of a manual grinder for its silence and manual-ness. I like to do things myself. I was pleased to learn (after I’d made one batch of grounds) that this grinder has setting to adjust the grind size. Perfect for use with espresso machines, french presses, coffee makers, and any other method you may use.

Brillante Coffee Grinder Parts | maegal.com

I used this grinder to grind myself up a single serving of coffee grounds for use with my french press. I’m looking forward to using this grinder when I move next month and begin to live with roommates. I’ll likely be making my morning coffee in my office, and it will be nice to not have to worry about the loud electric grinder waking my wall-mates.

Brillante Coffee Grinder With Coffee BeansBrillante Coffee Grinder Fine Grounds | maegal.com

Overall, I’ve really enjoyed using and trying out this grinder. I’d like to try it with pepper and other spices next, as recommended by Brillante™. This grinder will certainly continue to be used by me. I’ll have to give the other ground size settings a try, too.

#Review: MoiChef Collapsable Wine Bottle | #moichefbottle

This post contains products received for free in exchange for an honest review. This post contains affiliate links that will earn me a small payment if clicked.

Moi Chef Bottle Opening| maegal.com

For review, I was sent the MoiChef Collapsible Reusable Wine Bottle*. The MoiChef Bottle holds a full bottle of wine (I tried) and are perfect for picnics, backyards and more– without the risk of broken glass or the weight of the bottle.

I was interested in trying out this MoiChef Bottle because of its portable nature and its appeal for use during summer months. It’s perfect for use by the pool (where you don’t want broken glass) or at a picnic on the beach (where you don’t want to carry the extra weight of the glass, and you won’t have to carry and empty bottle home). And while I do love a glass of wine, I plan to use my for water, too. It’s great for hiking when you don’t want to carry much extra weight.

Moi Chef Bottle Back | maegal.com

Before the first use, you’ll want to make sure to massage the bag/bottle when filled with water to make sure it expands to its full size. I took this opportunity to also give it a wash before filling it with wine. The MoiChef Bottle is made of BPA-free plastic and lined with aluminum foil. It holds a full bottle of wine (or about 750 mL).

Overall, I like the MoiChef Bottle. While I don’t think I drink enough wine to justify purchasing it, I can think of plenty of friends it would make a great gift for! I like that it’s made from materials I feel safe with, and I like that it holds a good sum of liquid. I would certainly recommend this to any winos (in the nice sense of the word) out there!

#Review & #Giveaway: Sample Tea Set from Enjoying Tea |Ends 7/17

This post contains products received for free in exchange for an honest review.

For review, I was sent a set of six sample teas from Enjoying Tea. I adore tea, and have been meaning to get back into drinking more tea. While it seems counterintuitive, I tend to drink more tea in the summer (specifically in the evenings). With six different flavors, I knew I would certainly be having a fun time enjoying tea! (Semi-pun intended.)

Enjoying Tea Six Named Sample Teas | maegal.com

The six flavors I was sent in my sample set were:

Jasmine Green Tea – a nice jasmine tea flavored green tea. I’m not usually a fan of jasmine, but I found this one to be rather delightful.

Keemun Black Tea – a nice black tea. One of my favorites from this sampling, because I do love colored teas, and had forgotten how much I like black tea.

Roasted Mate Chai – I had never tried Mate tea and found it to be a fun try. You can certainly taste the chai, too. Chia is another flavor I generally don’t go for, but this turned out to be a favorite.

Earl Grey Black Tea – One of my all time favorite, black tea and Earl Grey. My Dad use to drink Earl Grey every day in a bit thermos, so the flavor brings back happy childhood memories.

Organic Slimming Oolong Tea – again, I’d never tried Oolong tea before (mainly because I’m not particularly interested in slimming teas), but I liked this flavor!

Vanilla Rooibos – my new favorite?! I’m surprised that I like these tea considering its floral-esque nature. But I’m not surprised because I love vanilla, and this tea has a lovely flavor of vanilla!

loose leaf enjoying tea sample | maegal.com

My favorite part of this product has to be the quality and the variety. I was so pleased to have six samples to choose from! The small tin cans that hold the tea are just too cute. I’m already planning on refilling them with various loose leaf teas I plan to purchase once these are all gone. I’ll likely purchase more teas in the flavors I like most from Enjoying Tea.

Brewing Tea | maegal.com

Overall, the name says it- I enjoyed these teas! It was fun to try out some flavors I’d never tried before, as well as some long time favorites. I liked the quality of these teas and the flavors they produced. It’s always fun to use loose leaf teas, it’s just better tea. And I get to use my cute cupcake/tart tea strainer!
