#Review: #OrderOutOfChaos – Academic Planner, Time Management Book

A note prior to the body of this review: My most sincere apologies to the company for my lack of timeliness in having this review published. A subsequent post to follow will future explain, for those interested in knowing where I’ve been.

For review, I was sent both a book on time management and an academic planner from Order Out of Chaos. I have previously reviewed other items of theirs, and was excited to support a company whose mission I’ve always supported.

I had intended on having this review posted prior to the beginning of the school year, but school has certainly started in this hemisphere by this time of the year. Perhaps this will serve as a reminder for something parents/students might like next year, or perhaps it’s the right time to upgrade to a better academic planner now to help your child succeed this school year. It’s never too late to make changes and start fresh!

“What’s the Deal with Teens and Time Management?”

OrderOutOfChaosTeensAndTimeManagementBook   OrderOutOfChaosBook

As a teen who was the worst with time management, or maybe I was just a master at procrastination, I thought this book would speak to readers who have teens and want to tips on how to best help them succeed. I was planning on going into more detail about the book, but you’ll just have to find out more for yourself here.

In short, this book gives helpful tips to parents to help their teens succeed. These are great skills to help your child master now, so that they have the skills when going off to college where they will begin to fully rely on themselves. College professors don’t care if you didn’t get your work done because you managed your time poorly! Start your teens off managing themselves for a more successful schooling future.

I know when I was reading through this book, I found a couple tips that would have been useful for me back in my schooling years. Of course, much of my trouble came from knowing what I needed to do, but then taking the get-up-and-go to do it. I plan to donate this book to the school my mom works out, which recently added middle school grade to their school. This book will be helpful for parents of those students.

Academic Planner

I previously reviewed an older addition of this Academic Planner from Order Out Of Chaos, and was interested in giving the newly released version a try. (Just noticed that first review I did was 3 years ago!) I like that these planners are full 8.5 x 11 sized, rather than the smaller version available. I think that smaller ones fit in purses better, but for academic purposes, I believe think the larger sized is helpful for many students. This planner is designed specifically to break down each class a student has an identify what needs to be complete for each day. (I use to use my planned to indicate what homework I needed to do, when tests were, etc.). There are also useful sections for planning bigger projects and making goals for your learning.

Aside from its purpose as being a useful academic planner, his planner also works if you have multiple aspects of your life that you like to plan/organize. This planner has been working wonderfully for me as a means of keeping track of my personal, blog, and work deadlines and appointments. It would also work quite well if you have a couple children and a spouse’s schedule to keep track of in addition to your own, each person gets their own line.

Overall, I quite like both the book and this planner. If you have students who struggle with organization and time management (or even if they don’t), I’d recommend checking out both of these helpful tools. I know my school always gave out planners, but they weren’t as useful as this.

#Review: Cord2Go Retractable, Portable Charge Cord | #SkivaTech #Cord2Go

A note prior to the body of this review: My most sincere apologies to the company for my lack of timeliness in having this review published. A subsequent post to follow will future explain, for those interested in knowing where I’ve been.

For review, I was send the cord to go retractable USB lightning charging cable, for iPhone 5 and above. While I generally do not review items that don’t work with devices I have, there was a mix up and I was sent an item incomparable with any of my devices. I’ve enjoyed all the products I’ve reviewed from this company, so I figured this product wouldn’t disappoint.

I was excited to receive this product, as it is just what I wanted for for using in conjunction with my portable charger. The size of this cord makes it much more convenient for storing in my purse. Unfortunately, it will not be for me. I thought about giving away this cord, but have decided to keep it on hand for friends who need the new generation cord/ for when I might finally upgrade my phone this coming year.

Overall, I quite like this product and am rather bummer that they don’t make one compatible with the first generation chargers! I would buy one for myself and a couple as gifts. Of course, I do have plenty of friends who are with the times. Unlike myself, my sister and a couple friends who still have iPhone 4s’s. If you’re in the market for a small, easily portable charging cord, I would highly recommend checking out this one.

For review, I was sent the Ohuhu® Heavy Duty Gullwing Drying Rack,*. This drying rack is made with rust proof stainless steel and light blue plastic. It features two adjustable side wings and a number of drying options and arrangements.

DryingRackFolder | maegal.com

Here is the review I posted to Amazon;

“While I hadn’t previously been interested in drying racks, with my recent move to Seattle, I knew I would be needing a drying rack of my own. And I’m quite please to have been chosen to review this one! I prefer it to the drying rack I’d been using at ‘home’.

I find that this drying rack as a number of places to hang various items and a number of options for me to choose from. It has places to dry shoes on the bottle, hang shirts on the top, enough room to lay items flat. I haven’t actually had to use it yet to dry clothes, but I’m looking forward to it. I tried it out with some dry clothes to see what I could fit and was glad to find it quite spacious.

Overall, I light this drying rack. I like the materials it’s made from and its color. I quite like that it folds up conveniently enough to stow away behind my bedroom door where it’s out of sight and out of the way until I need it again. I would recommend this drying rack to anything looking for one.”

#Review: J.I’s Mouse Deodorizer | #truck

This post contains products received for free in exchange for an honest review. This post contains affiliate links that will earn me a small payment if clicked.

JTMouseDeodorizer | maegal.com

For review, I was sent a a 4 pack/ 6 month supply of J.I’s Rodent Repellent Mouse Deodorizer*. This product does as the name suggests and controls the scent of mice and other critters from permeating your truck, car, camper, boat, trailer and more.

JTMouseDeodorizerInfo | maegal.com

Here is the review I posted on Amazon;

“According to J.I on Amazon, ‘each individual pouch covers approximately 500 square feet of space. Poke holes in your packs, place them along your walls and walk away. That’s it! … Better than moth balls – multi packs work excellent in large and small warehouses, hotels, shops, machinery and garden sheds, garages, for a fresh tractor cab, trucks, RV campers and trailers, boats, cars, cottages and cabins, basements, storage bins and lockers, mobile homes and houses, and near seed plants, bags and indoor or outdoor use. No see, no view, no touch, no mess, like magic! Great for home defense against mice smells, even better for industrial and commercial application.’

I decided to use my Rodent Repellers in our family garage. We had a rat problem one summer, and still get the occasional mouse or rat, so the garage often has a rodent scent about it. So far, I’m please with the results. I can’t say that they had a big job or a lot of scent to cover up, but I did notice a difference (prior to my moving out). I’m headed home this weekend and will be interested to see how it smells now.

Overall, I’m pleased with the results I’ve had. I think I’ll actually get a set for my dad. He recently got out our old family trailer, and there was a family of mice living in it. He also just removed a family of mice from one of his old cars. The man could really use these, and less vehicles… “

#Review: “How to Be a Real Estate Investor” – Phil Pustejovsky

This post contains products I received for free in exchange for an honest review. I received compensation for this post.

For review, I was sent to book “How to Be A Real Estate Investor: Discover How You Can Make Fast Cash and Build Wealth Investing in Real Estate” by Phil Pustejovsky. As the back cover suggests, this book will help you discover how to invest in real estate “without cash, credit, risk or experience”. If television as anything to say, it seems that flipping housing is becoming a more known and success-prone line of work. So why not learn about it and see if you want make money investing in real estate.

I was interested in reading and reviewing this book for a couple of reasons. 1) My father is currently considering purchasing foreclosed on housing with the intention of selling them for a profit. He’s humored the idea in the past, but it getting serious. I think this book would be helpful for him and I’m passing it along to him just as soon as I’m done. 2) I’ve always thought about it myself. I’d like my next major purchase to be some sort of small piece of real estate, perhaps something like a condo so I don’t have to worry about the outside of a house for my first project. This is still a couple years down the road, but it’s never bad to read something and learn more. Plus, this book focus more on making money without investing your own, which is more appealing to me at this life stage. 3) I thought that it would very likely be interesting to many of my readers. I know a lot of my readers are a bit older than me and possibly in a place in their lives where this is just what they need!

I haven’t completed reading this book yet, however I’m a little over half done as skimmed the rest of the book to see what additional information Pustejovsky was going to discuss. So far, it’s been an interesting read. The book begins with an introduction in which Pustejosky tells his story of how he got into real estate investing. I was pleased to found him an easy read, and not at all to technically wordy, as I thought may occur.

In this book you will learn from the following parts, per the table of contents; 1. Why Be a Real Estate Investor, 2. How to Think Like an Investor, 3. Real Estate Investing 101, 4. Advanced Investing Techniques, and 5. Your Real Estate Future. In part 1, you will learn what is IDEAL (read the book to know the acronym) about being a real estate investor. In part 2, you will learn what it takes to be a real estate investor and how to get the best results with the right mindset. In part 3, you will learn everything you need to know to become a real estate investor, from two main subcategories of How to Make Fast Cash and How to Build Long Term Wealth. In part 4, you will learn more advanced real estate techniques, such as Foreclosures and Short Sales. In part 5, everything you’ve learned will be put together in summary. Here is where you make your plan and set your goals to begin your real estate investor journey.

As always with book reviews, and why I generally don’t do them anymore, I have a hard time explaining the book without giving it all away or just saying ‘go read it’! But I hope you found this review helpful. If you’re interested in real estate investing, I would recommend checking this book out. It’s a pretty quick read and taught me a lot.

#Review: RFID Blocking Anti-Theft Card Protectors | #B00XATKDJG

This post contains products received for free in exchange for an honest review. This post contains affiliate links that will earn me a small commission if clicked/ if a purchase is made.

For review, I was sent a set of LINKYO RFID Anti-Theft Protector Sleeves*. The set I received contains 10 sleeves; 2 passport sleeves, 5 plain white card sleeves, and 5 green patterned card sleeves. It’s always a good idea to protect yourself from theft as much as possible, even digital theft like this. Great for use in big cities, while traveling abroad, or just for peace of mind at home.

LINKYO RFID Protector Sleeves| maegal.com

I reviewed this product on Amazon, and thought that rather than rewriting my review, I would simply share my review with you all here, too;

“I’d never been particularly interested in RFID protecting sleeves while living in my small town. (Aside from the year I had an enhanced drivers license and wanted to protect that in the provided sleeve.) Now that I’ve recently moved the the city, I was very interested in using these RFID sleeves. It give me a better sense of security knowing that my cards are protected from unwanted digital thief attempts.

While I could do without the plain, white sleeves that are not unlike the one I was issued with my enhanced license, I’m quite a fan of the green patterned ones. I like that the opening in on the side of the sleeve versus the top of the sleeve. This makes for the perfect sleeve to fit with my card inside the slot in my wallet. It’s pretty easy to pull out when I need it, and not too hard to put back in one handed. I also like that these seems to be the thicker of the two type of sleeves, which seems to be a factor in determining their protectiveness.

I also like the passport protectors. While I don’t travel much using my passport, I’ll look forward to using this sleeve the next time I do travel abroad. (Though other reviewers seem to indicate that this is unnecessary for passports issued post-2006, when apparently the covers of passports were modified to provide their own protection. But I don’t mind being extra safe!”

LINKYO RFID Card Protector Sleeve | maegal.com

Overall, I like and have no complaints about these LINKYO RFID Protector Sleeves. I will be continuing to use them, particularly now that I’m living in a bigger city. I’ll be saving some for replacements when mine get worn out, and the plain white ones will go to my mother who was interested in having some for herself. I would recommend these sleeves to travelers, city dwellers, and anyone else looking for piece of mind.

Review: Lake House French Press Coffee Maker | #LakeHouse

This post contains products received for free in exchange for an honest review. This post contains affiliate links that will earn me a small commission if clicked or purchases made.

lake house french press coffee package

For review, I was sent the Lake House French Press Coffee Maker*. I use a french press nearly every day when I’m at home to make a cup of coffee, and it’s nice to have more than one press! With my recent move from my childhood home to the big city, I was thankful to have accumulated enough presses for both my mom and I to have a couple each.

As for this french press specifically, it’s not unlike others I’ve used in the past. However, it has a few key features that I really like, features that make this my favorite french press and they one that will be living with me (once I get it from back home, it got forgotten in the kitchen!). I like that overall sleek design of the packaging. The handle is made of plastic, so it doesn’t get hot when you add boiling water to it. The handle also has nice clearance between where your knuckles will be and the hot coffee, more clearance than other coffee presses I’ve used. The feet are stable and keep the coffee press level, an issue I had with another brand before.

lake house french press coffee

I have the hardest time reviewing things like this, simply because I’m not totally sure what I want to talk about/ what I should mention. For products like these, it seems like a simple “it works as it should without issues and I recommend it” would suffice at times.

Overall, I like this Lake House French Coffee Press. It does the trick while looking stylish. I have no complaints and have used it a couple times now. My Mom also reports that she has had no issues, and used it just this morning (considering my leaving it behind). I would recommend this french press to anyone who is in the market for one.

#Review: Live Infinitely Infuser Water Bottle | #liveinfinitely

This post contains products received for free in exchange for an honest review. This post contains affiliate links that will earn me a small commission is clicked and a purchase is made.

For review, I was sent a the Live Infinitely Infuser Water Bottle* in Black. This water bottle is features a center cell that allows you to fill it with any fruit of your choosing to infuse into your water. It’s also BPA-free! Perfect for encouraging more water drinking in yourself or your children. This water bottle comes in black, green, red, blue or orange colors.

Live Infinitely Forever Infuser | MaeGal.com   Live Infinitely Information | MaeGal.com

I was excited to review this water bottle for a couple of reasons, primarily because I love infused water! The university I went to always had at least two or more huge containers of water infused with various fruits and flavors in the dining halls. It was actually one of my Mom’s favorite parts about visiting me! And I know I have a lot better time getting myself to drink water when it tasted delicious.

Live Infinitely Infused Water | MaeGal.com

Thus far, I’ve tried infusing my water with raspberries and lime slices. Yum! Already a favorite flavor combination of mine, this duo makes for a refreshing bottle of water. And the longer you let it sit (up to a certain point), the better the flavors incorporate themselves into the water. I’m excited to try out more flavor combinations to see what I like.

Live Infinitely Water Bottle Parts | MaeGal.com

Overall, I really like this Live Infinitely water bottle. I will certainly be continuing to use it. I’ll particularly be glad I have this once I move to Seattle and have to deal with city water. While filters take out the chemicals and chlorine, no water will ever be as good as the well-water I’ve grown up on. But this infuser water bottle will make Seattle water drinkable for me!

#Review: Schwarzkopf Curl Cream & Tousle Spray | #WeLoveSchwarzkopf

This post contains products I received for free in exchange for an honest review.

Schwarzkopf Ultime Curl Defining Cream | MaeGal.com

For review, I was sent two product from Schwarzkopf Styliste Ultime; the Curl Defining Cream with Elastin Moisture-Complex – Flexible Hold and the Soft Tousle Spray Versatile Styling with Elastin Moisture-Complex – Strong Hold.

I was interested in trying out these product because they’re designed for those with curly hair, or those who want to enhance their curls. I have naturally wavy hair so I like to use products that increase my waves or make my hair more curly.

Schwarzkopf Ultime Cream Directions | MaeGal.com

Here is the review I posted to Walmart.com for the Curl Cream;

This curl cream is a thick, paste like consistency that is best applied to damp hair. I noticed that it seems bit thicker than creams I’m use to, it’s certainly more sticky and paste-like. I think it might add some nice texture to dry hair, if your hair is shorter.

The one thing I didn’t particularly like about this product was its scent. I found it to be a bit more masculine than I like, and a bit stronger than I generally like my hair products. I could have done with a different scent.

And a picture of my hair using this curl cream that I posted to Instagram;

Overall, I like these products. I think the price is good for what you get. I’m not sure that I would purchase the cream again, but I would consider the spray. But if you’re in the market for a medium hold, curl enhancing cream, or a soft tousle spray, I’d recommend giving these a try and seeing what you think.

Schwarzkopf Ultime Soft Tousle Spray | MaeGal.com

I have opted not to review the spray, as mine arrived 90% empty and I was not able to be sent a replacement. I was able to use it some and like the beach-waves effects it gives me, but I don’t feel I can properly review it for you all.

#Review: BellEsentials Temporary Tattoos | #bellesentials

This post contains products received for free in exchange for an honest review. This post contains affiliate links that will earn me a small commission is clicked and a purchase is made.

For review, I was sent a 6-sheet set of BellEsentials’ Temporary Tattoos*. These tattoos are perfect for children and adults alike. Featuring fun metallic designs and words, there is something for everyone. Ideal for summers on the beach, music festivals, and anywhere else where having a little flash of something it fun.

Belle Essentials Tattoos Collection | maegal.com

I was excited to review these temporary tattoos for a couple of reasons. 1) I’ve always loved temporary tattoos, since I was a wee little one. 2) I’ve seen so many of these types of metallic tattoos, and I’m so excited to get to try some out for myself! I’m particularly looking forward to using some the next time I go to the beach/ lake and am wearing a more skin-exposing outfit.

So far, I’ve tried out two of these temporary tattoos and have been quite pleased with the results I’ve had! Easy to apply, easy to remove when they start to fall apart, and they last at least 5 days in my experience.

Belle Essentials Love Tattoo | maegal.com   Belle Essentials Worn Love Tattoos | maegal.com

Overall, I really like these Belle Essentials tattoos. I’m excited to try out some of the bigger ones, and some of the ones containing that beautiful aqua/ teal color. I’ve only used two small gold ones at this point, I guess I like the small gold type. I would recommend these to anyone interested in trying out similar tattoos. Again, something both the kids and you can enjoy!

Try them for yourself!
