Fashion Friday: Neon Tops, White Bottoms Trend

On the runway, in magazines, and else where my love for fashion leads me, neon tops paired with white bottoms seem to be a pretty big trend this Summer, a trend that you will be able to wear into early Fall. I’ve created three different outfits all featuring white bottoms and a neon top, but all for different occasions.

Continue on to see the outfits, and afterwards leave a comment letting me know what you think of this trend!

Fashion Friday: Leather for Fall Trend

MaeGal leather trend
Leather for Fall

I’ve seen a lot of leather pieces, mainly skirts and shorts, for the Fall fashion season. I’ve always wanted a leather or pleather jacket, but I’ve never found one that has the fit and shaping that I was looking for. The more I see it, I’m kind of excited about this trend. I’ve thrown together three outfits all featuring a pair of black leather shorts.

Continue on to check out how I’ve paired three outfits. Let me know what you think of this trend in the comments!

Casual Day

Try out this outfit for a casual day with friends. This outfit also showcases a trend I read about with added the denim top trend to leather bottoms. Something I could also see myself wearing, especially those converse. I’ve always wanted a cream pair, but I’d dirty them badly.

Pair your leather shorts with a light color, denim button down and casual converse. Polish off the look with mascara, eyeliner and a bright red lip.

Night Out

I paired this outfit together mainly because I think it has a fun look. I might consider wearing something like this for a night out, but I’m more of a converse person over heels. Otherwise, I could see me wearing it.

Pair your leather shorts with a black tank top, a sheer black top, studded heels, some basic eyeliner and mascara, and you’re good to go.

Casual Day, Take 2

As fun a look the one above is for Fall, that’s more of a Summer outfit around here where I live. Once Fall hits, this outfit is more like something I would wear, and it could carry into winter with a coat on top.

Pair your leather shorts with a big sweater, cream leggings, lace-up boots, bangles and a dash of mascara.

Trend Alert: Maxi Dresses

Maxi dresses are really a new trend. They were definitely around last summer, and now that I own a maxi dress, I’m excited to see they’re still all over this summer. Maxi dresses come in a variety of styles, patterns and colors. I’ve seen floral maxis, stripped maxis, solid colored maxis, animal print and more.

Continue on to see three different maxi dresses and how you could style them!

Romantic Lunch

Pair this warm colored floral dress with nude pumps and a pink clutch for a summery, romantic look. Add gold bangles and neutral makeup to compete the look.

I thought that this look would make the perfect outfit to go out the lunch with friends the summer. The dress is both casual enough for day, yet nice enough to get you into a classier place for lunch, if you so desired.

Classy Evening

I paired this dressier leopard print maxi dress with studded wedges and a bronze clutch. Complete the look with a deep brown smokey eye and a berry lip.

I thought this outfit would be great for going out with friends this summer, out for food or perhaps out to a fun lounge for drinks.

Blue Beach

I paired this multicolored blue “dip” style looking dress with brown gladiators, a brown beach bag, and a big floppy blue heat. I finished the look off with mascara and a little lip gloss.

I though this would be a great look to wear to the beach, whether you were lounging in the sun or using the dress as a cover up when you’re not swimming

Last summer I bought a long, zebra maxi dress. Something about the way it’s made makes it come off as more dressy, so it’s not so much a dress I can just through on for the day, but rather a dinner night dress.

(If I’m smart, I would take it to Mexico with me, which is where I will be when this post goes live, though I’m writing this right now at home weeks before. Oooh, tricky. Haa.)

Do you like maxi dress, do you own any?

For a girly look, try pairing riding boots with a floral dress. For added warmth and a unique twist on your summer dress, through on a loose fitting top. Finish off the look with a belt, accessories and simple makeup.

Fashion: Trend Alert- Over-the-Knee Boots

Over-the-knee boots are a stylish boot trends I’m seeing a lot of this winter. Over-the-knee boots are stylish, comfortable, and they even add a bit more warmth in these cold winter months. They can be worn many ways and with may different styles.
Read more to see two ways you could pair two types of over-the-knee boots. Then leave a comment telling me what you think of over-the-knee boots.

My favorite style of over-the-knee boots are flat boots. I’m not much of a heel person, so I like being able to have the comfort and stability of a flat boot. Flat over-the-knee boots are great for every day.

Below is an example of house flat over-the-knee boots can be worn in a casual, everyday look with a feminine touch in the flowy dress. This outfit features a flowy cream dress, black tights, cute bangles and of course, cute over-the-knee flat boots.

Over-the-knee boots can also be found in a nice heel. Heeled boots are great for adding style and height all at the same time. Boots keep them comfortable and heels keep them classic.

Below is another example of how flat over-the-knee boots could be worn on a daily basis. Just a casual look composed of a flowy shirt, skinny jeans, a cute bag and of course, over-the-knee boots.

Fashion: Fall 2011 Trend – Mustard

Fall 2011 Trend: Mustard

Colors in general are big for this Fall season. Keep your eyes peeled for all the colors of Fall. Mustards, rusts and jades will be big this season, just think of the leaves changing color.
Mustard is one of the biggest color trends this season. It will be seen in every time of clothing, accessory, and so on. You can go big and bold with a mustard dress, or simple and more subtle with mustard colored lace tights. This trend will fit anyone, you just have to find the amount of mustard that fits your style.
Read on to learn how you can style your own outfit feature mustard…

On the runway…

Acne • Fendi • Hermés

For an evening out…
Try a nice mustard dress (perhaps even more yellow than this one) for a nice evening out, maybe for a date night. Keeping the accessories simple, and in this case black, will add more to the attention grabbing factor of wearing a mustard colored dress. Dare to be seen!

Too bold for you?
Try a simple “pop” of mustard, like a pair of cute heels or a clutch. I know if I try out the mustard trend this season, it will be in this way. My skin tone doesn’t look good in yellows/mustards and I also just don’t have the guts to wear such a bold color. But if you do have the guts, wear it!

Trend Alert: Mixed Textures (Fall 2010)

Mixed Textures (Fall 2010 Trend)
[Hover over items to view their details.]

A big trend for Fall 2010 is going to be Mixed Textures. In the outfit above I’ve mixed a couple of textures to create a fun, Fall look.

The knit wrap, satin top, ruffles, and faux-leather boots/bag all combine to create a look with lots of texture. Texture is a great thing to play with in an outfit. It can add interest and uniqueness to any look. This outfits also includes greay boots, which is also a trend that we’ll see this Fall.

Is is Fall where you live, or has it turned more towards winter? Or, maybe you still have summer weather. It’s turning to Fall here, though yesterday it was rather warm.

Leave me comments and tell me what you think!

Trend Alert: Button Down Shirts

Button Down

Button down shirts, or button up if you prefer, have been around for quite so time. This Fall, however, they are making a big comeback. All three styles can be worn various ways, and for various occasions.

Below are three simple examples of how you can wear these shirts.

Plaid.
Pair a plaid top with simple tank top, leggings and shoes.
(My sister has a plaid shirt that she wears like this. =D Only her Converse are green, and she doesn’t have a clutch or a chain necklace.)

Plain.
Pair a crisp, white shirt with a colorful cardigan and coordinating accessories.

Do you own any button downs?

I own a plain, pale blue and a blue plaid button down. Both of which I have to wear with belt, because they are huge on me. Haa.

Trend Alert: Statement Heels

Statement Heels

If done well, heels can add a statement to any outfit. Wear bright heels, patterned heels or detailed heels. This post is short, but I don’t think it needs much said. It’s rather self explanatory.

For a subtle statement, only a bit oxymoronic (is that even a word?), add statement shoes to any outfit.

For a more noticeable statement, add statement shoes to a simple outfit with a muted color palette.
